Am so very grateful to the intrepid (and kind) Colin Hung, John Lynn, Shahid Shah, team at the Healthcare Scene, and Medigy for recognizing the Health Populi blog as Blog of the Year (by an individual) at the HITMC awards ceremony on 11th May 2022. I've midwifed this site since 2007, writing over 2,600 posts in my own independent voice firmly focused on consumers and citizens, health care, and technology. This is a particularly appreciated award: my thanks.

While there are some promising digital health innovations to help scale support and care to older people, we must stay design-ful, person-centered, and empathy-powered.
Deloitte has calculated that health inequities cost the U.S. health care system $320 billion every year. Jane discusses this "tax" on American health care, a hit of $1,000 per U.S. health citizen, on the Medecision "Liberate Health" portal.
