“Much of the economic backwardness in the world can be explained by the lack of mutual confidence,” Nobel Laureate Kenneth Arrow wrote in 1972. Fifth years later (!) this phenomenon is demonstrated by the eroding trust in health citizens around the world with health care institutions, research, and public health authorities. I wrote an essay on trust and the health economy published by the World Economic Forum learning from the 2022 Edelman Trust Barometer’s special report on Trust and Health.
